Frequently Asked Questions
We can absolutely provide you with an Employment Agreement, and any other employment related legal documents too. However, we don’t write them ourselves. It is important to us that you and your employees are protected from a legal perspective and while we know lots about some of the legal stuff, we have a fabulous legal partner who writes our Agreements and makes sure that you have a document that has the best possible chance of protecting you if legal proceedings eventuate.
We know that lawyers have a reputation for using words that make no sense to anyone else, but our legal friends aren’t like that! They get just as excited as we do about preparing documents that are easy to understand and most importantly, easy to implement!
While we’d love to help all business owners with their HR challenges, we also understand the benefit of having a detailed understanding of a smaller number of industries to allow us to provide the highest quality support. That’s why we love working with businesses in the Professional Services, Allied Health and Agriculture industries. But, we do have a soft spot for outstanding employers of any industry who genuinely want to create incredible workplaces for their teams.
We work with businesses who have up to 50 employees or we can provide our advisory services only to businesses with more than 50 employees.
They certainly can, however we would need to discuss your requirements and expectations before we can give you a definitive answer. For large businesses, we may suggest that our services will help to complement internal HR or payroll skills, but for small to medium sized businesses (our favourite ones to work with!), we can create a plan that allows us to build relationships with your team and become the trusted and valuable HR partner you need.
Definitely! It is one of the things we love to do! We often see internal HR roles filled by employees who have learned about HR related tasks on the job but can lack the skills and knowledge to act as a trusted HR Advisor to your management team. We can create a support and training package which upskills your employee to understand what good HR governance looks like, how to think strategically about people and culture solutions to support business goals and best practice processes and policies for all the elements of an employee lifecycle.
We get it, it can be super frustrating to research external providers and read all this amazing stuff about what they can do, to find out that their services are beyond your budget.
Having said that, we think it is really important to make sure we are customising the right HR solution for you and your team and unfortunately, that can’t come with cookie cutter pricing.
We recommend reach out to us using the Contact Us form on our website and arranging a time for us to chat about how we can assist with your HR needs and package a price to achieve your outcomes. Whether that is for our ongoing HR Business Partner services, HR Projects or any of our other services, we’ll work with you to create a payment plan that is loaded with value and kind to your cashflow.
Absolutely! That’s why we created our HR Business Partner services option. Often working together on a HR project will raise concerns or questions about your other HR practices and we get really excited by extending our relationship beyond the project to provide you with the support and guidance you need to feel confident that your HR obligations are being met and you’re maintaining a really cool environment for your team to work in.
Yes, we can. However, if we can manage your expectations from the outset, it may not be as quick and as straightforward as you’d like it to be.
In many circumstances surrounding termination, there are processes that we need to demonstrate we’ve gone through to prove a fair dismissal. If you’ve not gone through that process, we might suggest that you start there to minimise the risk to your business of an unfair dismissal claim being brought against you.
One of our primary values at Leanna J Consulting is to recognise that there are people behind the titles and we will not compromise on fairness or kindness, and neither do our clients. We’ll tell you if we don’t think you’ve been fair prior to the dismissal and we’ll help you to implement a fair process for improvement before commencing termination proceedings.
The short answer is, it depends! The circumstances that surround the complaint that has been made, and our level of involvement with your business prior to the complaint being made, will determine whether we will be able to assist you. We will likely suggest that you have legal representation in the first instance and, if we’ve worked together for a while, we are happy to be involved to support you through the process and help translate the advice your lawyer provides.
